1. Introduction #

Welcome to BrickART.app (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our web application. Your privacy is important to us, and we are committed to protecting it. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect #

We collect minimal information necessary to provide and improve our Service. The types of information are as follows:

Images You Choose: When you choose an image and manipulate the mosaic, the image is processed entirely in your browser and is not transmitted to our servers.
Account Information: Generating a PDF instruction manual requires an account. If you sign up directly, we collect the email address and password you provide (your password is stored in hashed form by our authentication provider, Supabase, and is never visible to us). If you sign in with Google or Facebook, we receive basic profile information from that provider, such as your name, email address, and profile photo.
Your Saved Projects and Color Sets: If you save a mosaic project or a custom color set to your account, its configuration data is stored on our server and linked to your account so you can access it later.
PDF Generation Data: When you generate a PDF instruction manual, the resulting PDF file and the associated input data (including image data, mosaic configuration, and color selections) are stored on our server for quality improvement and debugging purposes, keyed to the time of generation rather than your account. Separately, we log that your account generated a PDF (with a timestamp) in order to enforce free-tier usage limits; this log entry does not include the image or file itself. This data may contain identifiable content if your source image includes it.
Usage Data (Analytics): We use Google Analytics to collect information about how our Service is accessed and used. This Usage Data may include information such as your computer's IP address (which is anonymized by Google Analytics), browser type, browser version, the pages of our Service that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, and other diagnostic data. This data is aggregated and anonymized and does not personally identify you.

3. How We Use Your Information #

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

To Provide and Maintain the Service: We use the image you upload solely to perform the core function of our app, which is to convert it into a brick mosaic and generate an instruction manual.
To Manage Your Account: We use your account information to authenticate you, let you sign in, and save and retrieve your projects and color sets.
To Enforce Usage Limits: We use records of your PDF generation activity to apply free-tier usage limits fairly across accounts.
To Improve Our Service: We use the anonymous data from Google Analytics to understand how users interact with BrickART.app. This helps us identify popular features, diagnose problems, and improve the overall user experience.

4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies #

We use third-party cookies from Google Analytics. These cookies help us track traffic and user behavior anonymously.

Supabase: We use Supabase to provide account authentication and to store your account information, saved projects, and color sets. We encourage you to review Supabase's Privacy Policy.

Google Analytics: We share anonymous Usage Data with Google to provide analytics services. We encourage you to review Google's Privacy Policy.
Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.

6. Data Security #

We take reasonable measures to protect the information processed by our Service. However, please remember that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

7. Data Retention #

Generated PDFs and Input Data: When you generate a PDF instruction manual, the resulting PDF and the associated input data (stored as a JSON file) are retained on our server for up to two years for quality improvement and debugging purposes. This data includes your uploaded image, mosaic configuration, and color selections. We do not share this data with third parties.
Account Information, Projects, and Color Sets: Your account information, saved projects, and color sets are retained for as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account, this data is permanently deleted.
Usage Data: Anonymous analytics data is retained in Google Analytics for a standard period to allow us to analyze long-term trends. Records of PDF generation activity linked to your account are retained for as long as your account remains active, in order to enforce usage limits.

8. Data Deletion #

You have the right to request the deletion of your personal data. If you have created an account with BrickART.app, you may request its deletion by sending an email to contact@brickart.app. Deleting your account also deletes your saved projects, color sets, and PDF generation activity records associated with it. If you have generated a PDF, you can also request the deletion of the stored PDF and its associated source data by contacting the same email. Upon receiving your request, we will delete the associated data within a reasonable timeframe. Please note that some data, such as anonymized analytics, may be retained as permitted by applicable law.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy #

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. We advise you to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
